Inter-Continental Hardwoods, Inc. realizes the importance of sustainable yield management of our forests, which means the proper management of forests, where there is a balance in the ecological, social and economic use of the forest.

We:

• Recognize our responsibility in following the worldwide environmental policies for the purchase of tropical wood and other wood products.
• Contribute to the process of sustainable forest development, by supporting only those suppliers who operate based on sustainable forest management, and encourage others to do the same.
• Support and participate in organizations that promote the use of sustainable forest management, through contributions, but more importantly also by our personal involvement in these organizations.
• As a member of the tt Timber International / Hinrich Feldmeyer Group, we are involved first hand in implementing sustainable forest management in concessions in Western Africa. Our group has also developed its own strategies to make careful forest management a principle for all its timber harvesting operations.
